My daughter (CG) has been rather determined to wear dresses even though it is like 20 degrees outside and refuses to wear tights or pants. So I let the natural consequences do their thing...I let her wear a dress with no sleeves and no tights. And what do you know, she asked for a coat pretty quickly once we got outside. She has been pretty good about wearing appropriate attire since.
On another note, I feel like she's a bit too young to understand the "I knows" and "that's so sad". But I'm keeping them in my back pocket.
I've been trying to give Des options as much as possible, mostly to get myself into the habit. He does seem to have preferences when I show him, for example, two different colored shirts or two snack options.
